Techniques for wildlife monitoring: "Occupancy Sampling" and Hands on session with Presence and R program

This day-long workshop is designed for individuals who are new to the field and want to gain a comprehensive understanding of ecological research and the idea of modelling organisms. The workshop will cover both the scientific and management perspectives involved in conducting ecological research. In this course, participants will gain knowledge on effectively managing field data for analysis.  The course's main focus is on occupancy methods, which take unmarked and imperfect detection into account when working with data on species detection and non-detection. Additionally, participants will be shown how to use software tools specifically designed for occupancy studies.

Requirements

This course is designed for individuals who have limited or no prior experience with occupancy modelling.
