Samrat Sengupta is an Assistant Professor of Zoology at DR College, Assam, and has contributed immensely in the field of environmental education and wildlife conservation in Assam. His diverse contributions have not only elevated the academic discourse regarding environment, wildlife and conservation in Assam, but also inspired action towards the conservation of the biodiversity in the state. He doesn't just teach; he ignites curiosity, fosters empathy, and moulds young minds to become stewards of our planet's most precious treasures.

 

Through his innovative pedagogy and immersive field experiences, he imparts not just knowledge but a profound sense of responsibility towards nature. For him, the boundaries between research and teaching blur into a seamless journey of exploration and enlightenment, where each discovery is a lesson and every lesson a discovery. He has given over numerous invited talks, conducted numerous workshops and courses on diverse range of topic relating to ecology, environment and wildlife in Assam as well outside and has a multitude of research publication to his name regarding the biodiversity of Assam.
